Project: Professional Resource Committee

Professional Resource Committee Professional Resources Committee (PRC)....A group of alumni who are mental health counselors, social workers, psychologists, psychiatrists and other physicians have formed to provide assistance with referrals to fellow alumni who seek therapeutic or other clinical services.

The PRC has developed a list of skilled mental health professionals throughout the world to work with Horace Mann alumni and former Horace Mann students who were directly or indirectly affected by the incidents of pedophilia, rape and other abuses perpetrated by Horace Mann faculty. Committee members will also use their professional networks to identify new referral sources when needed.

For ethical and legal reasons, members of the PRC do not provide clinical therapy to those who inquire. As fellow alumni we seek to assist those in need with appropriate referrals.

All inquiries to the PRC will be handled discretely, but it is important to be aware that the communications with the PRC are likely not afforded the same legal protections of confidentiality or privileged communications of medical records. Once an inquiry is made, it will be directed to the committee member on-call who will work with the committee members to identify appropriate service providers.

The PRC may also serve as an educational resource to the alumni community providing information about the issues we are all addressing.

Inquiries can be made by contacting: In an emergency please call 911 for an immediate response or go to your nearest hospital emergency room where there are professionals on call for immediate consultation.
